Salam,

It is getting near, my friends.

In 10 days we will be gathering again for another challenge. The much awaited Northern Tour.

There's a lot to expect this time. Though we are not expecting a four hours climbing anymore, though most part of the path will be a fine road; NEVER LOOK DOWN ON THE CHALLENGE!

As we have moved on and progresses along, I believe it is a good time for us to take a period to refresh ourselves on underlying courage that created the birth of ACT.

"Established in June 2008, Associated Cyclosportif Trekkers (ACT) is a bicycle-trekking club made of more than 200 members nationwide. The club aims to impact its members and the community more than just promoting cycling as a sport..."

~ACT webpage, ‘About Us’ tab~

Yes my friends, we DO take cycling as more than just a mere sport. Cycling is a mode for us to promote positive values among Malaysians. We took all the hardship for a reason - to bring the good into the public. Do we stop there? NO! There's more for us to ponder. For that, let’s take a little look around on the Mission of ACT:

1. To promote healthy living that could helps restraining social ills from severing the society and nation.

- My friends, we do not promote cycling just for the sake of physical health, on top of that we are expecting to see this activity as an effective tool to cope with the ever growing social ills that has been attacking our society day by day. That’s why we have to start from our own selves. All ACT members are bound to high level discipline; from the very small ‘No smoking’ rule (Yes, none of ACT members smokes) to the very important aspect of road safety (Fail to abide may make you part of the statistics). We must ensure that we do not contradict our words with our own actions. Remember – Action speaks louder than words!

2. To promote bicycle as a strategic mode of transportation for explorative expeditions to the rural districts to study its economic resources and developments, and also to appreciate the nature’s beauty.

- We do believe that there are too much potential left untouched in the rural areas. We do really hope that we will be able to help to unleash these potentials for the positive development of these areas. History has also proven that bicycle is one of the most effective mode to reach to the deepest end of community. It is also environmentally friendly, ensuring no pollution caused to these areas.

3. To encourage the culture of ‘earth-greening’ and awareness towards ‘global warming’ by collaboratively planting selected trees in the visited districts.

- Global warming is a big threat to all, be it on mankind, flora, or fauna. However, not many realize how much this could impact us, and (more importantly) our future generations. We decided to play our part to instill awareness among ourselves and every community we met along the way so we all can do our part together.

4. To foster friendship and mutual respect amongst the society for the cultures of tolerant and peace to develop.

- Alhamdulillah, throughout our tours we have been receiving never ending support from governmental bodies, local authorities, local communities, and individuals. All of them have expressed positive remarks on our effort and look forward to work with us again in the future. Thank you to all, and we will definitely meet again!

This was also expressed earlier in our page, refer About Us tab:

"...As far it has trailed Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malacca, Perak, and Pahang through ‘ACT District Expedition Program'. The club has built new friendships and social networking out of these programs, especially with the rural-area community. Its members were benefited by the vast opportunity to explore, experience, to share, and appreciate cultural similarity as well as differences amongst the uniquely multi-cultured Malaysian community..."

5.To develop strong and courageous spirit of togetherness to encounter local and global challenges.

- There goes our “Together as One” motto. Together we become a stronger nation of Malaysia. Together we work hard to create a better Malaysia. Let’s break any barriers that differs us, which breaks us, that torn us apart. It is time to start understanding each other and find the fine line that connects each of us as mankind. With our love to this beautiful country, we strive for the success!

So my friends, let’s get our mind straight. Let’s get our intention right. Should all of us take this tour seriously by understanding the very reason of the program itself and play their role well, I believe that we could do so much more comparing to what we have done before. Let’s make this 3rd phase of ‘Jelajah 1Malaysia’ a more successful one. Remember, we do not do this for our own self, we do this for the good of this blessed country and all of her citizens.

I would like to leave you with ACT's Vision for you to ponder on. Feel free to express yourself via 'Comments'. We welcome any language!

"Making bicycle-trekking as a constructive endeavor to develop a healthy and dynamic society contributing to the well being and love for the king and the country"

Wassalam.

Kuala Lumpur, 19th April - The latest mark of GIANTs were found recently near here, leading the investigators towards the light at the end of the tunnel.

Local sources said that in 4 days, 14 hours, and 54 minutes and 10 seconds (as this article is being written) the GIANTs will gather in one of the district in Terengganu. The source had also stressed that the meeting point of the GIANTs is set to be the marking point, which was also said to stretch over 3 states in the Peninsula Malaysia. A wild guess of the three states could be Terengganu, Kelantan, and Kedah as these states are being linked by good road links. However our source had also said that should the wild guess be true, it will be extremely challenging for these GIANTs to get themselves through a near 40-km climb from Jeli to Tasik Banding. Where the road is said to be narrow, incline pretty sharply, and temperature could crash any men’s heart.

Despite all above we are still unclear on the real form of these GIANTs and why they are being much awaited by the locals. Our reporters are having so much trouble to gather detailed information since every local folks we spoke to tend to say only 4 words - "They are good people"

The lead investigator, in his latest update today heated up the air by saying that it is really a big challenge to the GIANTs to fulfill the local folks' expectation. They really have to do well in all aspects. Be it their preparation, their modus  operandi, their looks, and the most important of all is the way they behave and mingle around with the local people. the must be able to be open, be receptive, and be prepared to blend with different culture, different life style, not to forget - they might be speaking in different language too! It is a big challenge, when different people tend to have different level of expectations and perceptions towards these unknown GIANTs, and according to the lead investigator, it is very hard for anyone on the planet to do such thing.

Meanwhile latest paparazzi input have given us more idea on the look of these giants:

We hope more clues to emerge soon as the timeline of 4 days is getting very near. We really hope that we can track down these GIANTs and reveal them to the public before they do so.

That's that for today. Hopefully more news will come soon.

Recent news hot online:

The mystery of two GIANTS.

Kuala Lumpur, 15 April - A huge rumor has hit East Coast of Peninsula Malaysia day by day. It was said that a big GIANT is coming to town. However, instead of being in the state of fear, people around the area are very happy and eager to meet up with this GIANT, and be friend with him. This is the first time in history of mankind (or fairy tale) where human being are willingly wait for the arrival of a GIANT.

Meanwhile, owners of bicycle shops around Klang Valley/Peninsula Malaysia are being puzzled with the arrival of tremendous amount of GIANT bicycles day by day. It was told by bike owners that they are going out of town . But it was never explained on what, where, when, and how are they going to do.

According to an owner of GIANT bicycle, Mr. Fajri from Shah Alam; he spent near RM 100 to get his 'Red Ranger' - a GIANT Iguana to be fully serviced at one of the shops nearby his place in order to prepare himself for the  journey. The same trend seemed to impact other owners too. Some sent their 'rides' for service, some for repairs, and some even upgraded their parts. This is not including the increasing number of new GIANT bicycles/accessories being sold day by day around the country.

A said-to-be paparazzi's best shot on the rumored 'Giant'

For the time being we are unable to trace the correlation of the above stories. We hope that we can gather more news on the phenomena and keep you out there updated in the future. - Warta ACT
